Where we’ll stay:

We’ll be staying at a quiet, off-grid-style farmstay nestled in the mountains of rural Thailand.

Expect private wooden cabins, open air spaces, birdsong mornings, and nourishing meals made from fresh, local ingredients. This is a place designed for slowing down and reconnecting.

What we’ll eat:

All meals will be home-cooked, plant-based, and deeply nourishing. You’ll also learn how to prepare some of these meals yourself during our cooking sessions, taking practical skills with you long after the trip ends.

About Your Host

A person with curly hair smiles while surrounded by lush greenery and palm trees, wearing a pink top and a flower in their hair.

Hey, I’m Karmen! I’m the author of Untethered: A Beginner’s Guide to Solo Travel, an Amazon travel writing bestseller, and the host of the Lost & Found podcast. I hold a degree in Philosophy and English Literature, as well as a diploma in Health Coaching.

This trip brings together everything I care about most: travel, wellness, self-discovery, sustainability, learning practical skills, and creating real human connection.

I’ve designed this experience for people who want more than surface-level travel. For those who want to feel grounded, nourished, and genuinely changed by where they go and who they share it with.

This Trip Is For You If…

• You’re craving a slower, more intentional way of travelling
• You want to reconnect with your body, your health, and the natural world
• You love learning practical skills that support a more sustainable life
• You’re curious about wellness, mindfulness, and self-discovery
• You want community, not crowds
• You’re tired of rushing and ready to rest
• You want an experience that feels meaningful, not performative

I’m Karmen

Writer, wanderer, podcast host, and full-time digital nomad originally from South Africa.

With an Honours degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Stellenbosch University, I’ve built a life around the things I love most: words, movement, and meaning.

I’m the host of Lost & Found, a top-ranking podcast about creativity, growth, solo travel, and figuring out your twenties in real time. I’m also the author of Untethered: A Beginner’s Guide to Solo Travel, a book for anyone craving freedom, connection, and a life that doesn’t fit the template.

Here, I share reflections on solo travel, creative living, and what it means to build a life with intention, even when you’re still figuring it out as you go.

Welcome. I hope these stories inspire you to wander a little further and dream a little bigger.

Stay awhile.
